You'll find the Flinn Scholars community in every nook and cranny of the Internet.
For starters, visit the Flinn Foundation page on Facebook, follow @flinnscholars on Twitter, and--if you're a Scholar yourself--join the Scholars group on LinkedIn.
Want a quick answer to a burning question? You can reach me via email at mellsworth@flinn.org.
And who is this writing, anyway? Since 2007, I've been a part of the Flinn Foundation's communications team, writing about all of the Foundation's initiatives, including the Flinn Scholars.
I'm also a Flinn Scholar alum myself, from the class of 1993. After my undergraduate years in Arizona, I completed an MFA in creative writing at George Mason University in Virginia. Now and then, I do type things not entirely true.

Remembering an afternoon with Walter Cronkite
Tags: flinn scholars, walter cronkiteNot many Flinn Scholars are old enough to have watched the late Walter Cronkite's broadcasts as anchor of the CBS Evening News.
But undoubtedly, all of the Scholars who attended an exclusive lecture and conversation with him in 1995 remember that afternoon vividly.
Scholar Jake Batsell ('92), a journalism major who was then the editor of the State Press, Arizona State University's independent student newspaper, helped to arrange the meeting with Cronkite, who some years earlier had lent his name to the ASU School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
And because the giant of broadcast news suffered from some hearing loss, it fell to Jake to stand at Cronkite's side during the Q&A session, relaying Scholars' questions to him.
