Biodesign's Poste honored with Einstein Award
George Poste, director of the Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University, has been honored by the Global Business Leadership Council with the Albert Einstein Award.
The award, which acknowledges business leaders who have achieved exceptional advances in human health globally, was presented in recognition of Poste's work in containing infectious and parasitic diseases around the world, and of his leadership in developing new drugs, vaccines, and diagnostics.
Poste has received numerous honors throughout his career, and was R&D Magazine's pick for 2004 Scientist of the Year. He joined ASU in 2003 to direct the development of the Biodesign Institute. In addition, Poste currently serves on the Defense Science Board, which advises the President and Secretary of Defense, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
