The Business Journal reports that a prominent Cleveland-based biotech firm, Athersys Inc., is considering Phoenix among its possible relocation destinations.
The 130-employee firm is also considering Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Research Triangle Park (North Carolina), and staying put. The firm conducts pharmaceutical and stem-cell research, and plans to market a range of products.

Scholarship Application Process Update:
The application process for the 2012 Flinn Scholarship has now closed. All 550+ applicants will be notified of their status in mid-December. Semifinalist interviews will take place Jan. 6-7, 2012; finalist interviews will be March 2-3, 2012.
