High-tech accelerator debuts in Valley

Valley science and technology leaders have launched a new business accelerator to encourage innovation and development of knowledge-based products and resources.

According to The Business Journal, the Arizona Business Accelerator will provide business development resources and hands-on assistance to convert ideas into commercially viable business. It will be similar in structure to, and work alongside, a new Arizona State University program. ASU Technopolis provides technology and life-science innovators with entrepreneurial guidance on business plans, growth management, and access to public and private funding.

The accelerator will be run by Quentin Smith, Jr., head of Cadre Business Advisors. Investor organizations include Pinnacle West Capital Corp., Avnet Inc., Dial Corp., St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Bank of America, and McMurry Publishing.
