Opening ceremonies for the 170,000 square-foot, first-phase facility of the Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University have been scheduled for Dec. 14.

The $73 million, four-level building is located on the northeast corner of Terrace Road and McAllister Avenue on the ASU campus in Tempe.

The featured speaker will be John H. Marburger, III, director of President Bush's Office of Science and Technology Policy. Festivities will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a reception and dedication ceremony, followed by tours of the new facility. An open house and additional tours will commence at 10 a.m.

The 170,000 square-foot Phase II building, currently under construction, is scheduled to opening in late 2005. Two additional buildings are planned.
